Located in Danville, KY, the historic, picturesque 150-acre campus is 30 miles from Lexington, in the famed Bluegrass Region of Central Kentucky.

Seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as the inaugural Associate Director for Employer and Alumni Career Networks.  The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic self-starter, fostering meaningful connections between alumni, employers, and current students. Directly support the mission and goals of the Center for Career & Professional Development (CCPD) by engaging alumni for mentoring, job shadowing, internships, and meaningful post-graduate employment for Centre College students.  Track all employer and alumni interaction with the CCPD. This position could possibly be considered as hybrid schedule, with occasional travel to campus. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Facilitate meaningful interactions between alumni, employers and current students, fostering mentorship, job shadowing, and professional opportunities that ensure impactful support for Centre students’ career aspirations.
  •  Work directly with the VP for Career & Professional Development to create and execute a targeted, data-based employer and alumni outreach plan.
  • Cultivate and sustain relationships with alumni and employers to create a support system to aid Centre students in career guidance, experiential engagement, and post-graduate employment. 
  • Directly support the work of the CCPD career coaches by creating meaningful networking, internship, and post-graduate opportunities for Centre students in targeted career fields and geographic regions.
  • Manage and track employer and alumni interactions, job and internship opportunities, and student hiring in the CCPD data management platform.
  • Facilitate and organize networking events and career treks for students, including the recruitment of employer and alumni hosts.
  • Oversee the Career Advocates database to facilitate career connections for current Centre students.
  • Create and maintain a database of job shadowing opportunities for students.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on industry trends, qualities/skills employers seek in candidates, and the hiring process.
  • Support and attend CCPD events as required.
  • Ability to travel extensively and work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Demonstrate an appreciation for and sensitivity to a diverse academic community, fostering an inclusive environment for students, faculty, and staff from a variety of social, economic, cultural, ideological, racial, and ethnic backgrounds.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in career services, higher education, or a related industry.

Knowledge and Skills

  •  Proven ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in relationship development and project management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective engagement with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple assignments, and to track employer engagement and student opportunities. 
  • Familiarity with higher education environments and alumni and employer relations strategies.

Physical Requirements

  • Limited pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Lifting would not exceed 20 lbs.
  • Mobility on campus is necessary.
