The Wake Forest University School of Business is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Associate Director, Alumni and MBA Career Development. Located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, this position will shape and execute the career and professional development strategy for Winston-Salem Evening MBA students and School of Business alumni. The Associate Director ensures that all MBA students and alumni are equipped with the tools, resources, and connections to achieve their professional goals.
Essential Functions:
- Develops and implements annual strategic plan for MBA student and alumni career development in collaboration with School of Business Alumni Engagement. This includes career coaching, programming, and networking opportunities to support student career progression and strengthen the alumni network, fostering ongoing professional development and career advancement.
- Leverages technology to deliver scalable, high-quality career coaching experiences, professional development programs, and innovative career tools for both students and alumni; develops and maintains digital resources accessible to students and alumni.
- Collaborates with the School of Business and other University stakeholders to ensure alignment in strategic planning and resource development for students and alumni.
- Stays current on industry best practices for supporting working professional students and alumni at various stages of their careers, adapting programs and services to meet emerging needs and trends.
- Travel periodically to engage with alumni at School of Business events, leveraging personal interactions to assess volunteer interests and alumni needs, ultimately developing and maintaining relationships with alumni.
- Monitor, track, and report student and alumni engagement activity and outcomes on a monthly basis.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree plus at least 3 years of relevant leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; skilled in effective public speaking.
- Strong work ethic, high standards, and accountability. Ability to represent the University in a professional manner.
- Experience working in a data-driven environment.
- Ability to work effectively and collaborate with diverse populations of students, alumni, staff, faculty and other stakeholders.
- Ability to plan and manage virtual and in-person events.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Ability to work after hours.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and records in accordance with state and federal laws and professional ethics; ability to manage and distribute information appropriately.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Advanced degree and five or more years of relevant experience preferred.
- Career coaching, business, MBA, or other advanced business degree or certifications.
- Advanced knowledge of career and professional development best practices for alumni and working professional students.
- Experience managing and developing corporate or client relationships.
- Training and experience administering and interpreting career assessment inventories preferred (i.e., MBTI, StrengthsFinder, etc.).
- Familiarity and competency using social media platforms.
