The Career Consultant is responsible for providing counseling services on an individual and group basis to students and alumni, and coordinating and supervising career planning programs and resources to assist them with all stages of the career development process. The Career Consultant will utilize interest, values, and personality inventories to assist students with major and career decisions. This consultant also will assist students in their engagement with internships and other applied learning opportunities, as well as their job search and graduate school application processes. In addition, this position will develop and present outreach programming to students in a variety of settings that may include: classroom, student organizations, residence halls and other innovative means to connect with students. The Consultant will serve as the departments’ primary liaison between the Career Center and specific academic areas and career sectors. All efforts are to support the career readiness of our students and alumni.

The UNCW Career Center is a comprehensive career counseling and resource center dedicated to empowering students and alumni as active participants in their own career development. This includes coordination and management of a wide range of programs and services to retain and enhance professional relationships with existing employer partners- local, regional, national and international. Additionally, the Career Center responds to new or expanding employer relationships generated by the Associate Director for Employer Development and further provides career and employment assistance for currently enrolled students and alumni through individual appointments, workshops, career events, programs, services and resources. Constituents include students, alumni, employers, faculty & staff, parents and the general public.
