Position Function:
The College of Engineering Career Advisor position reports to the Assistant Director of Cooperative Education, which is housed in the Cooperative Education Program Office located in McCain Hall. Additional accountability is provided to the Bagley College of Engineering to support student success initiatives. This position is a vital role in the Career Center and serves the career development needs of College of Engineering students and alumni through one-on-one appointments, group workshops, and presentations on career related topics. This role assists in building and maintaining relationships across their assigned academic function and coordinating outreach, student engagement activities, and classroom presentations related to the programs, events, and services of the Career Center. This position also supports the needs of the Cooperative Education Program. Also, this role works closely with the Employer Relations team in connecting with employers and alumni for on-campus recruiting activities. Additional duties and responsibilities may change as programs are added and/or enhanced or as needs dictate.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position may supervise exempt and/or non-exempt employees; including student staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience (yrs.): 1-2 years experience related to the position
Substitution: An equivalent combination of related education and related experience may be considered for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
Experience: Two years of experience related to the position.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
Job frequently requires sitting, talking, hearing.
Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, handling objects with hands, and lifting to 25 pounds.
