Assistant / Associate Director of Employer Engagement & Internships

Berry College - Mount Berry, GA
Full-time
Application Deadline: N/A

Berry College invites applications and nominations for the position of Assistant / Associate Director of Employer Engagement & Internships. This position is part of the Center for Personal and Professional Development (CPPD) team and reports to the Director of Career Development.

The CPPD supports the college's mission and commitment to prepare the whole student for all of life in two primary ways: first, by offering all students 8 semesters of personal and professional development experience through LifeWorks, our distinctive student work program. In LifeWorks, students gain professional experiences and skillsets for lifelong success. Second, our campus-wide Career Development Network helps students navigate toward a meaningful future career. CPPD staff work closely together to support Berry students as they develop a greater sense of clarity, confidence, and creativity in pursuing purposeful life and career goals.

Berry seeks an experienced and innovative leader who can collaborate across a wide range of campus and external constituencies to expand the reach and impact of Berry's Career Development Network. The Career Development Network model is a strategic partnership between the CPPD and Berry's academic leaders that provides a wide range of resources (e.g., tools, trainings, advising, etc.) to support the career / professional development of students within each of our 4 schools.

The Assistant / Associate Director of Employer Engagement will focus primarily on initiatives designed to strengthen relationships with strategic employers, raise awareness about Berry College within the marketplace, and enhance the quantity and quality of job/internship opportunities available to Berry students. In pursuit of these goals, this position will oversee Berry's employer engagement efforts, developing partnerships with key stakeholders to implement a series of employer networking and campus recruiting events. The Assistant / Associate Director will also lead efforts to coordinate and expand Berry's internship initiatives and resources. To this end, they will manage the college's signature "Community & Industry Work Partnership" program, building strong relationships with local employers, cultivating off-campus job/internship opportunities, and supporting Berry students as they explore, apply to, and reflect on these opportunities.

To accomplish this work, the Assistant / Associate Director will partner with the CPPD Office & Events Manager and supervise a Graduate Assistant as well as a team of student employees. The ideal candidate for this position will have a deep knowledge of and experience with current/future workforce trends, employer engagement tools/strategies, career development/advising methodologies, and Handshake's career management system.
