Reporting to the Dean of the College of Business & Technology (CBT), the Coordinator for Career and Experiential Learning develops new initiatives and administers programs and events that enhance student professional development and expand career services and experiential learning opportunities.

Leads CBT student professional development initiatives
    • Develops and makes career services-related presentations.
    • Leads resume workshops.
    • Organizes mock interviews.
    • Plans, organizes, promotes and executes department events, including the Whitton Executive Leadership Series.
    • Assists with events organized by the university’s Center for Career Development & Internships (CDI).

 

Leads CBT career service initiatives
  • Plans, organizes, promotes and executes various career fairs and the Business Partnership Summit.
  • Develops and implements new career services initiatives in collaboration with CBT faculty and CBT and CDI staff.
  • Assists with CDI initiatives and events.
Leads and oversees the CBT internship process
  • Connects with companies to grow the college’s internships and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Shares internship opportunities with students.
  • Maintains all documentation related to CBT internships and prepares reports.
  • Provides support to chairs/faculty overseeing internships.

Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience leading career service efforts, preferably in a university setting. Master’s degree preferred.

Knowledge of the job market and employment trends and willingness to stay abreast of current conditions. Exceptional oral and written communication, networking, and presentation skills. Effective organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and successfully coordinate multiple concurrent tasks/programs. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the general public. Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when working with confidential information. Sufficient technical ability to master software required to perform job duties. Ability to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
